Nkiru’s Charity Choice

No surprise, Nkiru chose Heifer. How could she resist the pictures of children holding their goats!  This charity did a fantastic job of advertising leading up to the 2011 holidays.

Here’s what Nkiru wrote: “I like Heifer charity because it gives animals to families. But these are not just animals, they can make food or objects that the family may not be able to pay for.”

Nkiru and Kenechi have visited Nigeria several times, and goats like those in the pictures are very familiar to them. They know that people have to care for them and feed them, and they know the goats are eaten in the end! But not before the females have babies that contribute to the family’s well-being and future meals and/or income.

Nkiru is a gymnast. Here she is at her January 2012 meet, where she came first in Floor. At Gymnastics Meet
