Challenge Letter

I wrote a letter to my grandkids to introduce the Charity Challenge. You can copy my letter or create your own.

Christmas 2011 Charity Challenge

December 25, 2011

Dear Kenechi and Nkiru,

The Christmas 2011 Charity Challenge takes place today, December 25, 2011, until 6 pm.

You are challenged to choose a charity from any of those in the folder, or those on the list here, to give your $25 dollars. You may split your gift or give all to one.

Write two or three sentences about why you chose what you did and convince me that your choices are thought out.

If I am convinced, I will match your gift one-to-one. You can pay your money to me and I will use a credit card to help you make the gifts.

  • Million Moms
  • Heifer (be sure to check this one)
  • GirlUp
  • Ashoka
  • Racial Justice Colorlines
  • UUSC

I’d love to see your letters. You can add it via the comments, or email it to me at
